Mecyje Sądeckie

Comprehensive design and implementation of a new website and online store, along with server infrastructure advisory and content preparation

About the project

Mecyje Sądeckie is a family-run bakery and bistro from Nowy Sącz, specializing in made-to-order cakes and known for its signature baked goods and occasion-based offering. The company had previously operated across two separate, digitally disconnected entities: a static image-building website and a standalone online store.

The client approached us with a need that, in practice, spanned several different areas at once: a new website, a new online store with a full migration of the product offering, an assessment of whether the existing hosting infrastructure could support both systems, and the launch of regular blog content publishing.

GOTOMA GENERAL carried out this entire scope under a single engagement, running in parallel the UX/UI design, the WordPress and Codarius e-commerce platform implementation, advisory on selecting the server infrastructure, and content preparation.

Problem

The biggest burden for the brand was operating across two digital “worlds”: the website and the store, which were not only visually inconsistent but also couldn’t scale together. An additional problem arose from having to rely on technical support every time content needed to be updated on the website or in the store.

The company also wanted to introduce a blog on the new site, one that would build brand recognition and increase visibility in search engines, including those based on AI. However, the bakery didn’t have a team that could run such a blog systematically, from researching topics, through writing, to publishing.

The infrastructure remained a separate unknown. The client was using their existing hosting, but had no way of knowing whether it could handle a new, heavier website and a separate online store running on an external SaaS platform.

Solution

The project involved several interdependent workstreams, all carried out under a single engagement:

  • Website with a blog on WordPress: the new information architecture organized the extensive occasion-based and seasonal offering into clear categories, with a clear catalog providing detailed product descriptions. The admin panel was configured so the client could independently add and edit content, including products and blog posts.
  • Store on the Codarius platform: full migration of the catalog from the old system, along with adapting the store’s appearance to match the homepage’s visual identity, so that moving from the website to the store wouldn’t feel like a break.
  • Server infrastructure assessment and recommendation: evaluation of the existing hosting’s performance and advisory on selecting a new server solution ahead of the production migration.
  • Content marketing: developing a publication schedule and ongoing publication of blog materials through an established approval process.
  • Secure production migration: a controlled transfer from the staging environment, preserving existing visibility in Google (redirects, indexing) and configuring security and mail.

Results

The implementation of the solution enabled:

  • Combining the website and store into a single, visually consistent service, instead of two diverging systems.
  • Independently adding products, offers, and blog posts.
  • Launching a regularly maintained blog without the need to build an in-house content team.
  • Server infrastructure tailored to the actual load of the website and store.
  • Preserving search engine visibility despite the migration.
  • A single entity responsible for the design, code, and content, without the need to manage multiple vendors.
