Nebula MAG-SELL

A system supporting post-production warehouse management and product sales coordination in the B2B and B2C models.

About the project

The 3D printer filament manufacturer rapidly expanded its production capabilities, servicing a growing network of distributors in Central Europe while simultaneously planning expansion into Western European markets.

As the scale of operations grew, limitations arose due to insufficient automation and digitization of post-production processes, particularly in the preparation of semi-finished products for sale and finished goods warehouse management.

The lack of an integrated system led to difficulties in coordinating sales between B2B and B2C channels and limited the ability to effectively plan the utilization of production lines and warehouse resources.

Problem

A manufacturer of 3D printer filaments was rapidly expanding its production capabilities, servicing a growing network of distributors in Central Europe and planning expansion into Western European markets.

As the scale of its operations grew, the need arose to streamline processes related to product preparation for sale and finished goods warehouse management. The existing workflow model relied on limited automation of post-production processes, which hindered efficient management of product flow between production, warehouse, and sales. Preparing semi-finished products for final sale and coordinating product distribution to both business customers and direct sales posed a particular challenge.

The lack of an integrated system supporting warehouse management and sales planning led to difficulties in synchronizing warehouse, production, and sales channels, and also limited the ability to effectively plan the use of the company’s production and logistics resources.

Solution

An integrated IT system was designed and implemented to support the product management process from production completion to final sale.

The solution included integrating warehouse and production equipment, such as scales, RFID gates and readers, barcode printers, and labelers, with the production management system and warehouse IT infrastructure. The system was integrated with the MES system, enabling process control from order acceptance, through planning in the context of production line availability and machine utilization, to product preparation for sale.

The central management system also enabled B2B and B2C sales to be handled from a single warehouse and administration panel.

Results

The implementation of the solution enabled:

  • Improving post-production warehouse management
  • Integration of production and logistics processes
  • Better planning of production line utilization
  • Reducing the amount of production waste
  • B2B and B2C sales support in one system
  • Central sales and warehouse management
